National Championships

March 1-6, 2004

This is from the USCSA National Championships in Sugarloaf, Maine.  I competed as Captain on the Western Michigan University Snowboard team.

Due to an injury in qualifications, I did not finish as high as I had hoped, but still got 8th place and All-American honors and the team got a respectable 2nd place in Parallel Giant Slalom.

This was the closest race of the day in the whole competition.  I won by 0.01 seconds.  At racing speed, that's about the length of a hand.
